      The Rare Book Collection consists of nearly , titles ranging in date from the fifteenth century to the twenty-first. Almost all of the Library’s pre titles are located in Special Collections, as are many books from the early decades of the nineteenth century.   Refrain from storing books in a room prone to extreme temperatures. Hot rooms might include laundry rooms, kitchens, and sunrooms, while cold rooms might include a garage, pantry, laundry room, or similarly poorly-insulated area.       The Rare Book & Manuscript Library is Columbia University's principal repository for special collections. Located in New York City on the university's Morningside Heights campus, its collections span more than 4, years, from early Mesopotamia to the present day, and span a variety of formats: cuneiform tablets, papyri, and ostraca, medieval and Renaissance manuscripts, early printed books.
